Last Wednesday, we took advantage of Preschool Days at the Kern County Fair. Admission and parking is free for Preschool Days so we were all over it!! Kim and the boys came down from Techachapi (have I mentioned how much we love having them closer?). The day started off with a tractor ride to the gates....the ride was seriously about two minutes long but the kids LOVED it!!

The first thing we decided to do was go watch the All-Alaskan Pig Racing. It was pretty entertaining! The pigs all had really cute names like Hairy Porker and Sloppy Joe. We all picked our favorite pig and cheered as loud as we could!

They had an area set up just for the kids to play with some different farm equipment. Lucas especially loved two spots that had dried beans and corn to play in. We literally had to drag him out of there when we left.

All the kids got in on the fun.

Emma tried her hand at roping a cow.

Then we headed over to the animals and took a look at all the cows. Emma and Zac both thought they were pretty cool and Lucas was amazed that they were so close! He kept going, "Ooo, ooo!" Which is his way of saying, "Let me go check those things out!!"

Some kids who were showing their pigs at the fair let us come into their pen and get a closer look. All of the kids were pretty hesitant to get that up close and personal! We really appreciated them giving us a closer look.

Both Lucas and Trevor really wanted to touch the pig until they actually got the chance to touch it, then they both backed off and just wanted to look from a distance.

There was also a little science area for the kids that they loved! We all tried to blow big bubbles but Aunt Kimmie was the only one who could figure out how to do it.

Zac kept getting a good bubble going and then reaching in a popping it!
